sworn statement for UPS delievery and Western Digital ...!
I have been waiting for my replacement hard drive to be sent to me and it turns out due to an error on the address at their end it was sent out with just my name on and liverpool, UK ...!!
it was stopped at manchester and they have twice told me that it has been registered as delivered to me!
Obviously I have stated this cannot possibly be true.
they are not being awkward about it and say they are sorry and will get the drive to me asap - but they want me to send them a 'sworn statement'...
their message is as below -
- " Western Digital will look into this matter however right now we want to make sure you get your replacement drive ASAP, what we will need from you is a Sworn Statement.
"A sworn statement, or sworn declaration is document that recites facts pertinent to a legal proceeding or incident and does not require the use of a notary public. The statement should include a name, address, contact phone number; the document should be signed and dated also. The statement should reflect a declaration and that facts and information contained in the sworn statement are true and are made under the penalty of perjury."
You will need to attach this to the reply email, ensure the file is in a common file type, such as jpeg/jpg, png, gif etc. and please ensure the attachment is no larger than 5MB in size. This will make sure the attachment comes through in our system.
Once this has been done I will get this sent to the back office ASAP.
Again I apologies about this and will help resolve it asap.
If you have any further questions, please reply to this email and we will be happy to assist you further."
which sounds a bit odd really - but my question is, what am i swearing to? is it just that i havent received the drive?
what shall i write?
Thanks
