Missing Mp3 In Audacity
Hi again,
just been watching video on you tube about how to export to mp3, then cd, and when i follow the instructions I do not get the option of exporting to mp3, that line of text is not there. As i said before, I have reloaded audiacity several times. now becoming a labour of love. anyone know what the problem is????
Thanks again,
now desperate,
annie.

Though, if the ultimate intention is to put the file on CD then gnerally you'd be better off exporting it to WAV to start with, Not MP3 as exporting to MP3 will lose a bit of quality.

Chuck,
Can a wav file be put on a CD and work in a car CD player??
Rojash, Yes I know it was me, and i have now sorted it, after going through google i find that I am not alone , there are other twits out there. problem is sorted, it is because the later audacity does not have the same "drop down box" so instructions don't tally.
and there are other extra bits that are not in the help files, but I got it working this morning after spending hours last night with cubase, which really is for professionals, I decided to go back to audacity and take a slow look at it, ignore the help pages. now it almost makes sense. I also found a couple of videos on youtube about audacity, they were different to my version.

Glad you got it working.
If you create an Audio CD (as opposed to a data cd) then it will definitely play in a modern car CD player (but ancient CD players may not be able to play CDs written on a computer).
You can create an audio CD using Windows media player:
Create a play list
Add the songs that you want
Click the lower part of the Burn button and select Audio CD
Insert a writeable CD and click Burn
