Lost Home Page Opening In Tabs

I know IE9 isn't popular here but it works ok for me, except all of a sudden when opening tabs I get little boxes showing my home page ,previous searches instead of the full screen home page I used get, its irritating to go through and having to muck about keep clicking the little box to get what always used to be tere by default. Is there a way to restore this facility please.

Turning on InPrivate Browsing will get rid of all the suggested pages:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/Protect-your-privacy-using-Internet-Explorer-9
but this should bring up your home page:
http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/Open-a-new-tab-to-your-home-page-in-Internet-Explorer
