I've had a new Dell Inspiron running Windows 8 for three weeks now, with no problems until today. I tried shutting it down, which happened, but it immediately restarted again, for no reason that I could see. I got a message saying that my computer had had a problem which made it restart, but no error code. The machine simply will not turn off!
I tried to do a system restore, but even after 10 minutes, I was still getting the message that system restore was intializing. I'm reasonably patient, but that was obviously going nowhere.
Any ideas?

We've had a few problems with windows 8 on our new Lenovo. In the end, my other half rang the Microsoft helpline...find the number on line ...and the very, very helpful people there will talk you through it.
