when I put a film in today the trailers for other films played ok, but the main film did not play at all, just a blank screen, I tried two other dvd's with the same result, what have I done wrong? all othe fuctions work ok, help please.

You might have a missing codec.
I would suggest (assuming you don't have it) downloading and using VLC player, which will play everything afaik.

Not everything Answerprancer. I had to install Divx player for a couple of mine.
