Hi, All, I live in an area that has quiet a few power-cuts (North-West Murcia-Spain). I have been advised to look into installing a UPS, to act as a safeguard for my Pc. I have read quite a bit on the web and the above unit gets a good write up on most sites. May I ask the 'boffins' out there for their views before purchase. Also how easy are they to install ? and does the auto shut down work if I am away from the PC?, TIA,P

Living on a Greek island, I also experience a lot of power cuts, plus surges due to lightning on the phone and power lines.
I have 3 x APC Back-UPS Pro 900s that keep my office going. They have surge-protected sockets for non-essential stuff, battery backup sockets for essentials, plus phone and ethernet surge protectors.

Hi,rojash, thanks for your reply, as I only have a single PC home set-up with no telephone lines ,do you think the one I suggested will be ok? it's half the price of your proffesional jobby and I don't have any thing else to protect other than the Pc
It will probably be OK, but if your power is like ours (works fine for weeks, then 3 or 4 short outages in single day) you may find that the by the 3rd or 4th powercut, the battery is flat.

Thanks for that , rojash, a point well worth consideration. Better to get the right one to start with.
