Without downloading a program, how does one "Print Screen"

You should have a Prnt Scrn button on your keyboard (usually somewhere top right) just press it then open somewhere to save like a blank word doc or e-mail and paste.

Press 'Prt Sc'. Absolutely nothing will appear to happen but an image of your screen will have been loaded into the Windows clipboard.

Open a new blank Microsoft Word document (or any other application which allows you to paste images into it). Right-click in that document and select 'Paste'.

Print Screen will take a picture of the whole desktop.

If you hold the ALT key down THEN press print screen you get a picture of just the current window rather than the whole desktop.

Have to agree with the previous replies but might also suggest that if you are using W7, try the snipping tool that comes pre loaded. You can drag the cursor around the part of the screen that you wish to save, and once you have done this you can save what you have "snipped". HTH.
