I am back with another laptop problem. I have just received a message from Microsoft, it is now telling me that the 'dmwu has stopped working', I have no clue what this could possibly mean. Please help me before I murder my laptop. Thanks.

That thread clearly suggests that it's Google Chrome that's throwing up the error.
I'm wondering also if reinstalling Google Chrome might fix your other problem. Although you stated that it occurred with both Chrome and Opera, you also said that the message you quoted was produced by Opera, even though the content of that message referred to Chrome. Perhaps there's an incorrect reference to Chrome in your laptop's registry, causing both problems? Try reinstalling.
