White Screen On Hp Laptop

Hi all, wandering if anyone has any ideas on this. My son's laptop was working fine until someone spilled some liquid under it, now it sounds as if it is starting up then the screen turns white and that is it. The fan seems to work and it sounds normal but white screen and nothing else. Does anyone know what I could look at. I have looked inside at the bottom and there was very small and I mean small drop of liquid but that is now cleaned up. Thanks for any help you can give.

I would put it in a warm atmosphere for a few days and then try it. It is possible that it will 'dry-out' and then work as normal. It's certainly a fingers crossed situation.

I agree. This happened to mine and we left it in the airing cupboard. It took three days, but it worked after.

Thanks for the answers. I have it on the window sill in the warm to see if it dries out. Will let you know how I get on. cheers

Keep it out of direct sunlight which can harm electrical items such as Radios, CD Players, Computers etc.

Good thought fender, although Hair Dryers can give out a lot of heat which could be sufficient to overheat delicate parts inside the laptop. Personally, I don't think one can better pixie's method of drying-out the lappy.
