Emails...old/new...windows 8

Only had this problem today. Got an email,opened and read it so it normally goes to "OLD MAIL" to read again whenever.I now also see the list of emails sent or old ones are all in jumbled order totally over last few months.Once have read an email like to then return to it later to reply so would go to old mail where it would be top of the list but not there at all now and didn't delete after reading.....any suggestions please?

I've not used Windows 8 and I'm not even sure which email client you're using but most programs allow to select 'date order' by simply clicking on the 'date' (or 'sent') header at the top of the column. (Clicking it again reverses the order). Why not give it a try?
