London is in your list above, as it is the same as Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon etc

GMT is no longer called GMT but UTC - Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)
>>>every other city in world is individually listed???

No they are not.

On Windows 7 listed in one group is Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney (as an example)

There are loads of other cities in "groups"

Amsterdam is with 5 other cities, Belgrade with 4 other cities etc.
London isn't the centre of the universe!
For all intents, instead of GMT read UTC.
When you say " the time shot forward 4hours " was that to correct it to what it should be or are your clocks still presenting you with the wrong time for you location. Could be interesting to know if you are resident in the UK.

Incidentally my Computer clocks are at present set to BST. :-)
