It looks ok in print preview but the bottom is cut off when I print it.

Do i need to reset the margins or something like that?

Thanks for any advice.

Your printer page set up is wrong.

It is probably at US Letter size instead of A4.

Great - how do I change that gromit?
I don't want to jump in on gromit here so I'm just going to make my suggestion.

Take a look at page layout and tell us what it is set at.
What version of Microsoft Word are you using shivvy?
Question Author
Thanks diz.
Indent left and right are set at 0cm
Spacing is before 0pt and after 10pt
I haven't a clue what that means! But it is Microsoft Office Word 2007.
If you go to the Page Layout tab and click on size, what is yours set to?
shivvy. see to the left of your doc do you have a type of ruler ? you might have one at the top of your doc as well ? If you have this ruler to the left of your doc put your mouse on the darker shaded part and drag it down. You should see a dotted line running across your doc as you do so. drag this line down to the last part of your document.

Page layout tab - there is a miniature page beside A4 210 x 297
and A5 148 x 210

Methyl - Letter 8 1/5 x 11in

Thanks for your help everyone btw.

Sam - I had tried that on a previous document and I think that might be what has messed it up. Although I thought if i started a new doc it would go back to the 'normal' settings.
Just as a thought, set your spacing "after" to 0 instead of 10pt - otherwise you're always typing in double line spacing. it seems to be the default on some documents, it drives me potty.
Question Author
Thanks boxtops. Will that effect it cutting off the bottom of the doc?
Just out of interest...

Try printing the same page again but when you go to Print (ctrl+p), choose the paper size as A4 (mine is set default to scale).

It is kind of the same thing methyl is suggesting but I want you to do it manually from a standard print.
it should start as a new document unless you've saved anything ? have you tried putting your mouse on the darker part of this ruler and by holding your left click button down "drag the page lay out line" to where you want it to end on your document ?
well, it means your spacing will be reduced, it's worth a try
You know you say it is cut off. Does it print the rest on a new page?

If the answer to that is no then it makes no difference to what you do in word or any other program for that matter.

It is down to your printer set up.

OK the doc that I'm having probs with had a border around it. However I have just printed an ordinary page and it was ok.

I changed it to A4 diz but it is still wonky.
Question Author
Diz - no it isnt printing the bottom of the border on another page.

I have taken the paper out of the printer, put it back in again and as far as I can see it is set to A4.
You could use boxtops advice re: spacing and make sure the text ends before the end of the page - or scale it down.
