Wndows 7 Won't Let Me Save Or Use Files.

I have Windows 7 on my PC and just recently it has refused to let me save files in My Documents or use images I have previously saved.
What can I do?

Any warning messages, if so, what are they precisely?
Downloaded and installed any recent software?

Save them elsewhere for the meanwhile. However it may be useful to know how you were trying to save and what the PC stated when it refused.

I first noticed this after I upgraded to the latest version of PagePlus 7.
I probably made it worse by trying to change owners.
The messages I get are that I don't have permission to save to that file or that I don't have permission to import the file.

can you restore the computer to an earlier,pre-problem date?

Using an Administrators account try to change 'owners' permissions back to what they were. Do you save any of the files in a backup? If you did they may still be there in their original state

The restore points don't go back far enough.

I'm not so worried about the files as I have backups, but just want to freely use the PC.

I get into a terrible muddle when trying to change permissions. I am certain that I have made the problem worse by trying to do that. Must be doing it wrong!
