Dvd Software Problems
4 Answers
For some time I have been seeking well functioning DVD software with screen capture capabilities but my laptop hasn't been very accepting.
It's a five year old Acer Aspire, Windows 7 laptop.
Here I will map out the log I have kept of all the DVD software I have attempted and what problem(s) I experienced with them.
Coral DVD 11:
(This apparently is actually the most recent version of Intervideo WinDVD5 the best DVD software I have yet used which came on my 7 year old HP laptop's system).
* Could not get it to open
DVD-X
* Would allow me to get as far as the episode selection menu of my series box set DVD but would not load the episode
VLC
Tried this one a couple of times
*First time, it would crash upon attempt to play a torrent
*Second time torrents would play with glitches audio and video
*Once got a series DVD to the episode selection but it froze upon selecting an episode.
PowerDVD
Another I made two attempts with
*First attempt: Crashed upon attempt to open DVD
*Second Attempt: Play back was out of sync and slow
I actually inquired with their official website where I was told my laptop was not fast enough to support it.
BlazeDVD
*Slight glitchy and out of sync playback
Found out it was a trial version which only allowed 30 minutes of playback. Deal breaker right there.
KMPlayer
*Playback is temperamental.
Can be clear, smooth and perfect but at times can also freeze and cease response or refuse to load DVD.
Honestly I am baffled here. What could the problem be?
I've always kept the hard drive clean via keeping all my files on a flash disk and never installed anything insignificant or untrustworthy.
Any thoughts/Suggestions?
