Resetting Google Search Behaviour

Regrettably I've followed too many links from AOG's threads and now when I use a news-related search string I find the Daily Mail taking up most of the first page of results.

I am working on the assumption that Google is tracking my recent search history and trying to deliver results that I 'like'.

How do I reset this behaviour?

try clearing your cache and cookies.

you could always include the term -mail in the search terms - the minus sign is important because it means exclude any pages that include the word 'mail' from the search

So long as it's fixable locally, i.e. on my machine and not something run at the Google end, I'll be happy.

Other than that, I'll just have to stop engaging with threads where the OP doesn't provide enough of a summary of the story that you can -choose- whether to go through the link to read the article or not before answering. The old link plus cryptic/provocative comment just doesn't cut it, for me, any more.

well your ip address will change frequently so i dont think google can identify you from that which leaves cache and cookies as the suspects. got to say i don't find i get the same issue and i often click on Mail links
