Disabled Printer Setting

Have windows 8 on laptop.Printer is Kodak hero and is wi fi set.Am now getting message on laptop saying "Bi-directional disabled".Iam unable to get printer now to print emails from laptop.Can anyone tell me simply how to restore this function.Have tried initially doing things from scratch.The printer works fine from our desktop just the problem is with the laptop so if I wish to print have to go to the desktop pc....any help please.Thanks
