Can someone please help me. My son`s playstation has been acting up as in his games were a bit jumpy, and when he took his game disc out it deleted all his friends details. So I looked at the instructions and it said that you can restore to default settings, so I did that and when I try to switch it back on, it just keep saying to connect the controller using the usb cable and press the PS button, I`ve done all that and doesn`t do anything.
What am I doing wrong ?

PS 3 I mean`t to say.

What does your controller appear to be doing? Are there lights flashing on it or on at all and have you pressed the start button?

No lights on controller and I`ve also pressed every button on it, allthough the instructions do say to press the PS button.
