I Want To Upload 1 Thing To Youtube, But Have No Idea How!
3 Answers
Technically, I am still in the dark ages, and have no prospect of changing that any time soon. All my recordings (TV and radio) are still done on video tape, I have no mobile phone, and the only reason I have a computer is that when my local internet cafe closed last September, in reward for being such a good customer, they gave me one of their computers and a screen, keyboard and mouse!
I'm always checking things out on YouTube, and I've found one record which I love, which nobody has posted there. It's so obscure that unless I put it there, probably nobody else ever will. For the record, it's a flexi disc which was given away with an American magazine at Christmas 1981, of cats 'singing' Deck The Halls - no, it's not the Jingle Cats recording, which is available on CD, this one is by The Tabbynacle Choir! As far as I can ascertain, it has never been transferred to CD.
I would dearly like to get this track posted on YouTube, but I have as much chance of doing that myself as I do of flying unaided to the moon. Can anybody suggest any way I can do this, without it costing me a month's benefits - i.e. pension credit, as I'm 64? I have several copies of the disc, bought as a clearance offer from a guy on EBay.com, so I'd be prepared to let one of them go to somebody who could do it for me. Also, it would be nice to get it digitised to a CDr - but I don't have the technology for that, either.
All sensible suggestions welcome!

Now there's a guy on ebay who transfers video to CD / DVD - so he might be able to help you. If you search ebay for 'transfer video to dvd' you'll find the service, it seems very well organised so you'll know it when you see it.
When your track is in digital format, then you need to do the following:
1. go to the Youtube website and make yourself an account
2. in your personal account area you'll find a simple grey button at the top of the screen saying 'upload'
3. Make sure the dvd is in your computer - simply navigate to it using the Youtibe instructions and you're done!

OK, thanks, Mosaic, I'll have a look at your suggestions, and see if I can do this. But I'm still not too confident, as the only formats at my disposal are the disc itself, and the copy I made to audio tape. I could also copy it to video tape, which gives a much denser, richer output signal.
I'll post here and let you know how I got on!
