or KingSoft Office

instead.
However if the files simply seem to have disappeared then it's probably an 'ownership' problem, as above.

Can you actually see the old files on your external hard drive?? If so just try to C&P [cut&paste] one as a sample. eg Hi-light the entire doc, press command C. Open your new office program and press command & V. Does it open on your new comp. Also where is your old Ext Hard Drive?? Why can't you connect it to your new comp. What is the 'custom' Office facility on your new comp?? Sorry if I'm too simple!!
I copied and pasted the 'My Documents' folder where all of my documents were, old quizzes, letters etc and pasted them into an EHD, I then tried to copy and paste them from EHD to new PC but the 'My Documents' icon is there and it has a 'small blue arrow' and is saying there is only 1KB in therend when I try to open it it says, 'the drive or network for the file 'my documents' is not available'!! Does this make sense to anyone?
Yes totally - you are trying to download 'files' in total which is too large for your 'allowed' capacity. Go back to my previous post. Can you actually see/open a SINGLE document, it should have a.[dot] doc ending, maybe .txt. Just try & C&P the single doc - not the entire files. Sorry but unless that works, then just don't think you are going to recover the documents/files without 'outside' help - hope I'm wrong. Nos da / Good Night.
