Chrome Keeps Openong A New Window.

Using Windows 7 laptop each time I hit the Chrome icon it opens a new window.
I've looked to solve this in the settings area but no luck.

Any ideas?

Well that's exactly what I'd expect to happen anyway. What is it that you want to happen?

"There's an option on the Google website to Open Links in New Windows.

To turn this off,
go to the Google home page.
Put your mouse up near the top/right corner of the website
and you'll see a menu option called "Settings",
select the Search Settings.
About 1/2 way down that page is the option to "Open search results in a new browser window".
Uncheck the box, and save your settings.
Now google will open any link you click in the same window."

At the top right hand corner is Customize and Control Google Chrome. When I click on it I can find Search which controls my search settings but In cannot see
Search Settings.
Am I going to the wrong place?

I'm not sure Ask, I found a similar question and copy and pasted the answer, it was only 4 months old so presumed it would be the up to date version of Chrome being used. I'm on the iPad so not sure if the layout is the same as desktop but I'll go have a look.
