Dropped Tower

Help please, the tower of my desktop fell over the other day and it has stopped working - a kind friend came and tested it by way of the F- keys - I am a complete dork on this kind of thing, don't know what he did, but the screen remains a blank. Can it be mended, can I get the disc out - there is important business stuff in there - not backed up of course!!

When you switch on does anything happen? Any fans/lights etc. Check the fuse in the mains plug.
