You couldn't make it up!! Ridiculous decision by the council and so unsightly, bet the mother feels really embarrassed.

wonder if they have changed it...
There was a thread on this yesterday, it quite frankly beggars belief doesn't it?
Absolute madness imo, bet you'd be knackered by the time you got to the front door after pushing a wheelchair up that thing.
Nightmare if you were bursting for a wee
Question Author
sorry if doubled up, bonkers isn't it, almost laughable, except for the cost.
Question Author
neighbours must be livid, not to mention the family
Yep, I bet that's done the neighbours house prices a lot of good !.
Question Author
i can't understand why the council workers, or planners didn't stop and actually look at what they were doing. It like some dreadful joke.
Makes you wonder doesn't it, emmie.
Question Author
it does tony, it's hideous.
looks like the barriers used for x factor or BGT . what an eyesore
Question Author
so it is. I wonder at council sometimes, don't you?
Almost all councils plead poverty, yet this particular council blows £40,000 on this monstrosity.
Question Author
ours just blew 140 thousand on artwork for their brand new mega bucks council office.
Question Author
take that back, it's only 130 k

Doesn't seem to matter when it's only the council tax payers money though, emmie.
as i put on the other post, i absolutely don't get what the problem is. This family campaigned for 2 years to get a ramp, after previously saying they could manage the steps. They got what they wanted. Then they have the cheek to complain about it. You can't put a wheelchair ramp at steep angles - you can't push people up them if they are steep, and no doubt the council would have left itself open to being sued when the slope was angled and the girl rolled down
Question Author
you are joking surely, this monstrosity is completely impractical.
i petitioned a council and got a ramp for a relative, i had to push for it, but it wasn't anything as stupid as this.
Question Author
they have idiots in councils, i have come across far too many not to think they are country wide.
