Hotmail Access Problem

After putting in my password as normal to access my Hotmail (which I use every day), I get a Microsoft Window that says something like "call us overprotective...." and it asks for another email address so it can send me a security code. I put in another address, press "next", but it always says there is a temporary problem, please try later. It also says I can access my acount for only 6 more days. I really need to use this acount for work purposes every day, and am worried that I'll be denied access. Has anybody else had this problem? Help please!

Not sure what's going on here but I have never heard of that security feature.

What you could do is to sign up for an Outlook.com email which you will have to do at some point as they phase Hotmail out. It will allow you to link your existing Hotmail address to it and all contacts etc and receive/reply to mail.

I know it's not 'fixing' the actual problem but it's what I would do.

Some information about phasing out of Hotmail and how to transfer to Outlook:
