Malwarebytes 2.0

I've downloaded the very latest free version of Malwarebytes (overwriting the previous version) and when I run a custom scan with settings that I reckon should duplicate the previous full scan (which is no longer available as a separate option in 2.0) it's still running after more than twice the time it previously took. So I've stopped it because I want to go to bed.

Anyone tried version 2.0 (with the new GUI) and found that a full scan takes much longer than the previous free version?

On recommendation from Malware Bytes it is only really necessary to run a quick scan which they say is sufficient. You should only use the full scan if your PC is acting up badly. I am using the latest free version and have had no issues .

I run a full scan every Saturday morning because I'm doing other things then and so it's a convenient time. Thus I ran a full scan using the previous version during the morning; that took about 1.5 hours.

I downloaded 2.0 early Saturday evening and, because I was watching a film, I ran another customised "full" scan following that installation but kept half an eye on it; it had been running for 3.5 hours when I cancelled the run and most of that time was spent analysing files. On reflection perhaps it was selecting all the scans, including Archives and Rootkits, that was the key factor. I use a Windows 8.1 desktop PC but I suspect that is not significant; I also do regular file housekeeping so there is only a minimal number of temporary files.

A re-test shows that it was the selection of Archives and Rootkits that caused it to take so long.
