Clearing Browser History

I've heard that you must clear browser history to help stop problems wih PC, is this true and if so, how do I do it. I have a PC, laptop and tablet. Thanks for any help.

There is usually an option in Settings or Tools to clear history

Not really. It can free up a bit of space on your hard drive but, given the massive size of modern hard drives these days, that's probably not really an issue for most people.

The main reason that people clear their browser history is to prevent others from seeing what they've been doing. (It doesn't have to be anything 'naughty'. Someone might, for instance, not want their partner to know that they've been looking at websites advertising weekend breaks in Paris, in order not to spoil a surprise for them).

I rarely if ever clear the history. I want, 6 to 8 months or more later, to try to uncover what that interesting site was that I visited.

I regularly delete all my browsing history; despite it being unnecessary on a Home Computer, as explained by Buenchico. However, if I were using another Computer, say in a public Library or at work, I would make sure that all Browsing History was cleared;... most important if Bank Transactions have been conducted or Goods bought on line.

i run my browsers in RAM so the history is completely cleared every time that drive starts
