Samsung Tablet
Is it better to leave my tablet to close down by itself, or to switch it off when I have finished with it?
The reason I'm asking is that I read somewhere that, with a phone, it is better for the life of the battery to leave it on standby rather than keep switching it on and off. Is this the same with tablet batteries?

I have reasoned that if you buy a cordless telephone, when you are not using it, it is always on charge where it is parked, so it follows that the batteries can not overcharge because of the back EMF so I put my mobile phone on charge every night & of course it is always fully charged & never lets me down. I cannot see that an electronic tablet is any different.

I have Not got a Tablet so my knowledge of such items is very limited to what I have gleaned from the Internet.
If you are only occasionally using a Tablet, I think it is better to switch off completely to avoid loss of battery charge. Just like my mobile phone, which is purely for emergency purposes and is very rarely switched on.

Thanks Tilly for having given me a 'Best Answer'. I am still wondering how the Badges system works in AB. According to what I have read, five best answers in 'Technology' is qualification for a 'Bronze'. Perhaps there is now hope for me because you have awarded me my sixth. However, it does seem that Badges have Not been up-dated since last October. Perhaps AB's batteries are a bit on the low side :-)
