Antivirus And Other Security - Microsoft
Some months ago some ABers were aghast at me paying for AVG, and advised me that a Microsoft (free) one was better, more comprehensive etc. Thing is, AVG has just run out, but for the life of me I can't remember just what the alternative antivirus, security prom is called. What should I use please? I am currently without any security!

If you are as security conscious as you say you are, then you should know that the Google Search Engine is the biggest tracker of personal information as additional to the Google Chrome Browser which is most insecure.

Based on past users experience I do not believe that going for a free AV is that much of a risk. Many come from reputable AV company who have a paid for product and hope you will move over to it when you have tried the free version.
There are a fair few out there Mr-H, the ones already mentioned here are fine. But if you want to go with a paid one, and I swopped to a paid one when my PC became infected a few years back, it's not a big deal. Hardly costs the Earth, and you can compain and get support any time you wish.
