I have a photosmart c5280 with installation cd but it is for windows vista while my computer is windows 8 how can I install it

I am surprised that you have been unable to download from the link which has been given by boxtops.

Initially you would have had to save the file and, until you 'Run' the file, nothing is really going to happen.

Perhaps there is something in a 'downloads folder' which now needs to be activated..ie....Run.

Please post further and let us know if any messages appear on screen.

I pressed run and my computer asked if hp could access my computer and I clicked ok a different window opened saying 100% then nothing

When you go to download the file you should be given an option to either 'run' or 'save' the file. The option you need is 'save'.

Remember where the file is going to be 'saved to'. After downloading the file, navigate to the file destination and doubleclick the downloaded file to install the drivers.
