You have to watch the Internet dregs who add things to the thing you actually asked for. Some admit it expecting you not to notice and untick, not I'm unconvinced they all even do that.

Have you tried your AV ? Otherwise Malwarebytes might work. Else a Google for possible solutions may help. Yes I would have tried a restore, anything to bring things back as they worth is worth a shot since you don't know what the malware does.

Methyl,I do not understand your last reply, are you saying that I should be using IE instead of Firefox? The program that I was downloading (unsuccessfully) was Draftsight,I had it already, but did not realise. After trying to uninstall omiga-plus and websearches in the normal way,the programs are still listed but with the word uninstall after the program name and they are still there when I go in to Firefox.I have not checked with IE yet.If I sound not fully computer literate,in my defence I am 80 years young Bi
If you wish to remove programmes which have 'uninstall' printed alongside them, I suggest you click the 'uninstall' button and then come back to this thread and report the latest position.

Hans.
Instructions here:

(I wouldn't bother with Steps 3 and 5, as they're probably 'overkill' anyway)

I've never come across 'Fast Start'. If you mean 'Quick Start', the instructions are basically the same as above (i.e. you can get rid of both things at the same time). If you'd prefer specific instructions, see here:
http://malwaretips.com/blogs/websearch-virus-removal/
(I'd omit Steps 2 and 4)

@methyl.......I must admit that I have never looked upon removal of Malware as being dangerous.

Many thanks to you all, for your help,it looks as if it will take a lot longer to remove than it took to install,46 pages of instructions from one site.

"Thank you for admitting that you are:
a) Running on The Public Internet as a Windows 7 Administrator. (Doh!)
b) Downloading random free programs"

Why would you say this Methyl? I seems like just pure scare-mongering for your own bizarre ends.

I have a vision of you and it looks a bit like this:
..LOL how ironic - ok try again:
