Hi, When I use a mouse on my laptop it will work ok for a while, but then a 'device not recognised' message appears and the mouse stops functioning! I have googled the 'device not recognised' message and tried all the various methods suggested on forums to rectify the problem. However, none of them work and still the 'device not recognised' message keeps on appearing. Anybody have any tried and tested ways of resolving this problem?
Many Thanks.

Have you installed the official driver for the mouse or let the OS install one for you? Try un-installing the software and re-installing. Try a different USB port. If it's a wireless mouse, are the batteries healthy?

If your using a USB port, the first thing I'd check would be the cable - try to borrow another Mouse to check.
I've just read the previous posters - and apologise for repeating other's advice.
