I'm replacing my unsupported Windows XP Pc soon, but am using free versions of Zone Alarm, Malwarebytes & Avast as protection for the time being.

Is this overkill , or could I do without one or more without risk ?

Cheers.

If you pay for a security suite it will have three essential elements. i.e. a firewall, anti-virus software and anti-malware provision. You've got exactly those three elements (free of charge), so that's spot on. Don't change anything!

Thanks, Zeb, but I thought that as Microsoft has now stopped updating its security for XP it would adversely affect Windows Firewall. Am I wrong ?
