With
some computers pressing the Ctrl & Alt keys (or sometimes Shift & Alt), together with one of the arrow keys, rotates the screen. For example, pressing Ctrl, Alt and the left arrow rotates it 90 degrees anticlockwise. So you could see if such a key combination might work for you.
However, since you're hoping that Windows will remember you preferred setting, Method 2 here is probably your best bet. (NB: Click 'Apply', not just 'OK'):
