Laptop Problem
My laptop has been attacked and I can no longer access the internet. Each time I try the message LPK.dll is missing flags up. Any ideas how to rectify this?

There are lots of websites that purport to offer you a way to reinstall it but it's probably unwise to trust any of them, as getting fake dll files onto your computer is one way that fraudsters use to bypass computer security systems.
First try fixing the problem:
Click Start
Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD
Click 'Run as Administrator'
At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow
Click Enter
Restart your computer
If that doesn't work, try running System Restore (to take your computer's registry back to a date when everything worked normally). You get to that from the Start button and then All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

A system restore may, or may not, do the trick.
If you have no joy with a restore, there's an option in Windows settings to, "Refresh your PC without affecting your files" ..... basically a Windows reinstall.
I had a problem with my sound (see the first related post below). I tried a system restore, but that didn't help. Anyway, I did the same scan that Chris suggested and I got an error message:
"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the
CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios."
Anyway, a system refresh sorted the problem ..... and up to now my sound is working fine :)

One further attempt:
Find someone who has a computer using the same operating system as you. Using that computer, go to Start>Search and search for lpk.dll
If you find it, copy it to a USB stick. (NB: Note the location of the file on your friend's computer)
Insert that USB stick into your own laptop. Search your laptop for lpk.dll
If you find it, right-click on the result and select 'Open containing folder'. Then drag the file on your memory stick into the folder (accepting the option to over-write the existing file). You'll have then replaced the corrupt file with a good copy. Restart your computer and cross your fingers!
If you can't find lpk.dll on your laptop, navigate to the same folder on your laptop as the one where you found it on your friend's computer, and then drag it into there. Then restart.
