I have a tablet that I listen to LBC on as I cant get the station on my radio.
I would like to listen in bed with earphones, but haven't seen any reference to such a thing anywhere online. Does anyone know if this is possible and if I have to buy special ones for a tablet? There is a hole in the side which I assume is for earphones. Sorry for my ignorance, I am not very well in tune with todays technology. Thank you.

Any earphones will connect.
As long as you buy ones with a small jack plug to fit your tablet's socket, they will work. I have a £20 pair of Senheisser ones bought from Amazon which are very good.
I got my earphones from Poundland. Plugged them in the hole and......hey presto. Sound.
I also listen to LBC overnight - buy a cheap DAB radio - that's what I use
then no earphones needed

Snap! I can recommend these (which I've been using this evening):

As Jomlett has effectively stated, any earphones with a 3.5mm jack plug (which is what they all come with these days anyway) can be used with any device with a 3.5mm jack socket (which is what all phones, tablets, laptops, etc now come with).
