Strange Booting Thingy

When i boot my computer, just before the windows XP loading screen comes on it says:

Invalid boot.ini
Booting From C:\Windows\

WHats this all about, Is there anyway i can stop it from happening?

You can edit the boot.ini file using notepad. It should look something like this:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

or you can put your xp cd in your machine and reboot. this will load the xp instalation program. from here you have an option to repair boot sectors. this will fix your problem : )
