I am very confused about I-tunes. I have a laptop, with iTunes, which has many albums in it, which I have uploaded myself using the cd drive. it took hours to do. I have then synced my ipad, and iphone so that I can have all this music on these devices. so far so good. I have purchased a few books and a couple of songs, I did this via the iphone, but they also appear on the ipad but I am not very sure how they got there. something to do with i-cloud, which i confess i am not sure I understand fully. now for the confusion. my sister has just bought an ipad, and wanted the music I have on my laptop onto her ipad. she doesn't have a laptop so cannot do this herself. I connected her ipad, gave it a name, and successfully synced all the music. now though, when she is wanting to download an app, the user name that comes up is mine, and the password required is mine. I am assuming that because we synced from my iTunes, her ipad is now linked with this. however, when I go into my I tunes account to manage devices, hers does not appear. I have never liked iTunes, I find it un-necessarily complex, but now she is linked to my iTunes, she ought to be able to have all my purchased content as well. is this the case because it has not appeared. I have no problem with her being linked to my account, we live close by each other and if she buys anything, I will know from the e-mail they send and she will pay me. I presume that if she wanted to have her own I-tunes account, I would have to set one up, log out of mine, and start all over again uploading cds into he account. or is there another way round this. oddly, she has downloaded several free apps, using my username and password, but they don't appear in my account either. she has her own apple ID.

In Setting under 'Itunes & App Store' there is an option to enable automatic downloads for purchases made on other devices, I assume both yours and hers are off.

im not sure, I will check hers, ours must be on as stuff downloads to both the I pad and I phone.
You can only have on ipad/iPod/iPhone linked to one itunes account. That is why your details are showing on your sisters ipad. It is to do with music rights. You have given your sisters iPad your itunes/App Store your account. I would try to set up another iTunes account for your sister and then copy/transfer all your music to her account. Not sure if it can be done as it is all to do with copyright. Her device does not appear in your iTunes as you already have an iPad allocatedto that computer.

I have an I-pad, and a I-phone linked via my laptop to I-tunes. I believe this is perfectly acceptable, my family have their kids I-pads etc all linked to the same I-tunes, in one case 4 of them. this I-pad of my sisters, is in effect just another I-pad in the house as far as I-tunes is concerned. it is not ideal, but I don't know of any way of transferring all the music in I-tunes, which is mine, bought on cd's, to her I-tunes account should she have one in her own name. there is no issue with creating a new account, but I cannot face, and cannot spare the time to load all these cd's again into a new account. it took hours. if someone can tell me how to do it quickly and simply I would welcome that information.
