Using an email client (such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail)? Using a dedicated phone app?
Have you checked your email providers' spam folders? (That's particularly important if you're not using a web-based system, where you'd probably see that there was content in a spam folder anyway. Log into your email via your web browser and look to see if anything is wrongly being blocked as spam).

>>>I have a WLM account (used to be hotmail)
Well that's got me confused for a start!
Hotmail became Outlook.com. Windows Live Mail is a computer program (not an email provider) which can be configured to send and receive email with any email service (using either POP3 or IMAP protocols). So it can be used with Gmail, Yahoo Mail and countless other services. Such services BLOCK spam BEFORE sending it to Windows LIVE MAIL, so the ONLY way that it can be viewed is by logging in to the provider's website.
