My friend lives in an area which is in South Gloucestershire but for some reason her "default" BBC Regional News is West Midlands. Her daughter, a few miles away, gets BBC South West.
Is there any way, short of installing another aerial and twiddling it, that my friend can get BBC South West instead (or even as well as) BBC West Midlands?
The Regional News you receive depends on which transmitter you point your aerial at. You need to point your aerial to the same transmitter as your daughter. If you have Sky or freesat, fine. A lot of expense just to get the same regional programmes as your daughter
I have the same problem in Essex. My neighbour gets BBC London news, I get the East Anglian variety. His aerial points in one direction, mine's about 180° the other way. The guy who fitted my aerial had to point it that way because there is a massive tree in next door's garden that was blocking the London signal. I use the i-Player to get the London stuff.
