Sorry I put this under the main Technology heading, it should be here.
My friend has an HP laptop and has ordered Kindle versions of books so that she can read them from her iPad. You can select books to go to your iCloud account when purchasing them, but after ensuring the laptop recognises her iPad we still cannot view the books she has purchased.
Has anyone else had this problem?
If you have the kindle app for iPad, when purchasing from Amazon if you are using the same email address for your Amazon account as your iPad there will be an option download to my iPad.
I have an ipad2 and my Amazon account and the iPad have the same email address. When I view Amazon using safari (Internet on iPad) the option I get is deliver to iPad. Which I do. But as your friend has purchased via laptop she will only pay once anyhow. She would then probably need to synchronise her IPad fom/with laptop. To be truthful since I bought my iPad (3 and half years ago) I don't use my laptop to buy books/music/eBay/etc/etc any longer i just use the iPad.
Thanks for your input Sycamore.
We found that we couldn't actually buy a book on the iPad - you could only add it to your Wishlist. I am thinking now that maybe that was on the Amazon app - and you actually need to buy through Safari on the iPad. Am I correct?
Thanks
Yes I buy through safari on my iPad and it downloads straight to the kindle app. Have never bothered trying to look this up on my laptop as I bought my iPad as an upgrade when my laptop started to fade shall we say. So all I really use now is my iPad.
I have just purchased a 2nd hand kindle. When I go to my amazon account using safari on my ipad2 it now gives me the option to download to all devices. I have an iPad, iPod and a kindle. When I,purchase a book I just have to press the option to download to whichever device. I am using the same email address for all devices.
