Pc Not Responding

pc was not responding to any commands. so i decided to reinstall windows 8,but when i get to the format stage it sayswindows cannot be installed to this diskthe selected disk is of the gpt partition style,,,, help please

didn't you try just switching off then back on first before trying to reinstall ?

how was i to know you weren't just a novice pal,and switching of and on again does work wonders,

methyl. yes it is the same pc , i have invalidated the guarantee by putting a graphics card in and more ram. i found out the hard drive was split into 5 partitions and that was why it was locked, i had to delete them all,, then the hard drive was able to reinstall. all sorted now and running great thank's for the input, ivor apologies sorry mate
