putting tape onto cd

Hi, does anyone know how to transfer audio cassette tape onto CD?

I have a tape player that says it is 'computer compatible' but I got it from a charity shop so have no instructions or leads.

A website with step by step or something would be great. And do I need special software? Thanks in advance

I suspect that the tape player is from the 1980s, a time when home computers stored data on audio cassettes, and player/recorders were marked as 'computer compatible' as a marketing ploy.
