Message Says Windows 10 Is Ready But Nothing Happens

My mum is getting a message on her Dell laptop saying that the upgrade to Win 10 has been downloaded but nothing happens when clicking on the button which says 'let's continue'.
There are wheels spinning and goodness what else going on, then it just disappears. She is trying to upgrade fron Windows 7.
Is anyone else having this problem or who can shed a light on what is happening here?

it may be there are other updates in the way - keep clicking windows update on the all programs menu till all the non Win 10 things install - then clear the Windows/softwaredistribution/download folder of all files. it should work then.

I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to upgrade to Windows 10 there lots of issues with it I would wait until they have fixed them maybe in a few months time would be ideal you have 12 months to do it.

Very pleased with the upgrade. I use a cordless mouse with my lappie and the improvement over w8.1 is very noticeable.

My laptop seems to be a lot quicker, probably about 30% quicker.....so far.
