Downloading & Burning A Youtube Video To Dvd Disc
I know this is an old chestnut but technology moves on apace and my familiar Realplayer has gone way out and beyond comprehension, so I need your help once more, folks.
I require a simple-to-use program/method to download YouTube videos to a dvd disc , preferrably with an idiot's guide included. I also need to be able to edit the video by clipping out extracts.
Many thanks.

I've tried various ways of downloading Youtube videos. Most seem to work for a while and then, as Youtube changes, cease to do so. Hi I use a piece of software called (simply) "You Tube Downloader". YTD for short. Find it here http:// www.ytd downloa der.com /.
There are free and "pro" (paid for versions) available.

Once you've got a video stored on your hard drive, you'll want to watch it and the most frequently-recommended program for doing so (which is about a zillion times better than Windows Media Player) is VLC:

(Use 'Installer Package' if you've got a 32-bit version of Windows or, obviously, '64 bits installer' for a 64-bit version).
The reason I've mentioned VLC here though is that it's got some useful video-editing facilities hidden in its 'advanced' controls, which will enable you to clip extracts from your files. (That's how I do it. It's dead easy!):

Any decent DVD burning software should then enable you to put your videos onto DVDs. My own recommendation is Ashampoo Burning Studio:

Ant Video Downloader isn't a standalone program (so it won't appear as one). It's a browser extension, so you should now have a new icon at the top right of your screen in Firefox:

When you go to a Youtube page that icon should switch to a 'rolling' one and simply clicking on it saves the video to your hard drive. (Clicking on the little downward arrow, at the right of that new icon allows you enter 'Preferences', so that you can choose where it's saved to)
