What does (Asta datasvc =Intel r rapid storage technology) do ,Powered up my pc this morning after 48hr off period in a cold room and the fan seems to be going 100% and this (asta datasvc) thing is running 27% according to the task manager its been running like this for 45 mins .
Not quite sure whether to shut down or let this thing carry on I use BT infinity
so if its up loading or down its taking a bite out my allowance

I'm shutting down for an hour and awaiting some advice

I think you can install Intel RST.

Windows will just use its own drivers instead of those from Intel.

I have a couple of Dell PC s that had this running and I uninstalled it and have noticed no difference.

Thank you for your time and advice VHG its finished whatever it was doing
now so I'll give it one more chance, if it plays up again I will have it out I'm
wondering if McAfee had anything to do with it which was running a scan at that time Any way all is well now
