Sony Solid State Laptop And Windows Xp Prefessional.
5 Answers
My Sony is now 13 years old and I only use it if I am travelling. My problem is it will not allow me to input more than four letters of a password for internet connection. I can type anything with it but not that. Not being able to put in the password means it is useless!
Also, I want to use it in Spain to watch the 6 Nations matches on TV. I can get the matches on Filmon but how do I mirror the picture to a three year old, NON SMART tv? Any advice gratefully teceived as last year I missed all matches in February.

As a workaround though, have you tried typing the password somewhere else? (e.g. in a Notepad document or even somewhere like the address bar of your browser). Then dragging your cursor over it, right-clicking and selecting 'Copy'. Then right-clicking in the password field and selecting 'Paste' (or using Ctrl C, followed by Ctrl V, if you prefer that method to copy & paste). Worth a try, perhaps?
The method for connecting a laptop to a TV depends upon what output sockets the laptop offers you and which input sources the TV accepts. Without that information it's hard to advise you!

Is there an option to unhide the password as you type (so you don't just see *)? The box might just be showing 4 * characters but actually allowing you to type in more characters without you realising it. On a 13 year old laptop I think the only external screen connection you will have is vga. The tv might not accept a vga connection only hdmi. You can get a vga to hdmi cable for less than £5. Once connected up, there should be a function button on the laptop to allow you to direct the screen output to the tv. Press FN and at the same time press the function button.
