Windows Updates

I bought an Acer E15 laptop running Windows 8.1 six months ago and everytime it tries to do update Windows it goes so far and then tells me that it has failed.
I have taken it back to the shop as it is still under warranty but all they did was take it back to factory setting but it still doesn't work so any help from anyone would be appreciated. In plain English please as I am easily confused

Try running the Microsoft Windows Update repair / trouble-shooter utility, available at the following web link:-

I had similar problem on one of my PC as it loaded with Win 8.1 and when I tried to upgrade to Win 10 using the update method within Win 8.1.

I then tried install it via microsoft website and this works. Worth a try...Good luck.
