Laptop Will Not Connect Immediately To Bt Hub - Help!
4 Answers
Hello
Up until a few days ago when I switched on and booted up my HP Pavilion Win 8.1 laptop it immediately connected me automatically to go online. Tjis does not nw happen and an O2 connection manager appears at top of desktop and then takes a couple of minutes to connect!
The only thing it might be is that i was trying out a new O2 paygo dongle for when I go on holiday and when I plugged it in it asked me what to do next and I said something like exeO2 and it set up this connection manager which I do not want and cannot get rid of!
Is tis my problem and if so how do I correct it and revert to the 'immediate' connection I had before.
Thanks everyone

Hi pinkyboyid
Did what it said but did not work - what am I doing wrong?
Went into msconfig and the box came up under 'general' with the top item highlighted as open all on startup. Further tabs along the top said 'services' and the next 'startup'
I went into 'services' tab and there was a long list all ticked. I went downit and found the telefonica line (there was only one) and unticked the box and then apply nd then ok. i then shut down the laptop but when i restarted it the blessed O2 Mgr was still there and nthing had changed! Did I make a mistake?
There was another tab further along in msconfig which was headed 'startup' and I went into this and clicked on task mgr in it and a few items (about 5) showed the first headed telefonica wi fi but I was loathe to remove this one as I thought that might stop all my wi fi not just telfonica (if you see what i mean) or is telefinica just the dongle as my hub is BT
Sorry to appear so obtuse
Thanks again
