Intel or AMD ? Which do you prefer ?

Makes no odds. My two desktops have Intel processors, my HP laptop has an AMD. Generally speaking, like for like, AMD processors are a bit cheaper.

The industry prefers Intel and they do have a better reputation / image.

However I doubt if anyone would notice a difference if they were sitting in front of a computer with one or the other.

As poster above says, AMD are often cheaper, as they are playing catch up to Intel.

However for a specialist CPU (like for gaming or video editing) it is worth doing some research as certain CPUs fit best for a niche market.

AMD for cheap office pc...Intel for gaming pc. Intels higher price at that level is offset by better performance and running costs.
