I used to have some screen wipes that I must have bought from the pound shop or somewhere. At PC World they are a silly price. The screen needs more than just a dust with lint free cloth. Could I use spectacle wipes?

I use baby wipes, they work well and the supermarket 'value' ones are as good as a brand name. They clean cameras and mobile phones as well!
I use a window-cleaning spray and a J-cloth.

Jackdaw - I feel it needs some kind of solvent based cleaner rather than just a wipe over.

Sorry, the other replies were not there when I started typing. I do have some Boots face cleaning wipes as well - maybe I`ll try them first.
I use this and it lasts a very long time.

I use it on my pcs, latptop, tablet, phone, camera - a little tiny squirt goes a very long way.

hc - that reminds me, I have a squirty spectacle cleaner. I expect the chemicals are the same so I might try that.
Don't use a brillo pad.(^_*)
Face & baby wipes have lanolin that will smear screens. Meths or gin on soft cloth is better
Much as I love my laptop it's not getting any of my gin!

Don`t you use gin to clean diamond rings? That`s what I heard anyway.
I find 'Baby wipes' that clean up 'sticky little fingers and faces' are also perfect for getting marks off computer / TV screens , and cleaning phone screens and cameras / lenses. They leave the screen dry but remove marks.
I also find the cheap ones are actually better for this than the expensive brand names. I do not think there is lanolin in the cheap ones as they seem to leave a computer / phone screen dry but mark free. I think they have some form of 'soapless cleanser' rather than the lanolin in more expensive versions.
Big boxes of spectacle wipes available from LIDL and for less than £2:00 !
I have them at the moment Mikey..good on specs and screens !! and also the wee tricky window bits in doors !!
Yes. That's what I use. No problem at all. I get them from Lidl. £1.57.
It seems that great minds think alike here guys !
