I have been using this media for transporting data between Mac OS X, Ubuntu, and Win XP. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I wanted to copy files from XP - but the usb stick was not recognised, neither in the form of a pop-up window, nor when I opened Explorer. Ditto, when I inserted this stick into a Ubuntu PC. The stick has a capacity of 8 GB.
Does anybody of any work-around -- or point me in the right direction? Thank you.

No expert but I have to ask if a flash drive formatted in Mac, is normally recognised as a formatted drive in Ubunto and in Windows ? You have done this before ?

O_G, I have simply put data onto the usb flash -- "asis" from a shop. Then copied these Win files to a Mac - ONCE. Otherwise for data-transfer Win to Ubuntu and vice versa - MANY TIMES. I cannot recall whether this usb stick was rendered after use in a Mac, as I put it into a drawer for several weeks between ops. Not sure which PC is the culprit.

O_G, I've left a word out = "useless". The penultimate sentence should've been: "I cannot recall whether this usb stick was rendered useless after use in a Mac, .." Further to my previous entry: Are there any problems regarding usb sticks when being used with these three OS?
Have you tried updating your chipset drivers - and it really is time to dump XP to avoid issues like this.
Perhaps a work around would be to upload your files to a file hosting site and download to each. Then you could try reformatting the USB drive unworried about losing anything.

CAC: "chipset drivers" Please elucidate what these are; and how does one update them. Thank you.

My USB flash drive is useless at the moment. So, I may as well re-format it. How can this be executed, please? Thank you.
